Hope is frozen...

The storm has buried civilization.

Your expedition is trapped in the last ruins of a dead world.

Frostpunk: The Last Recon is a brutally immersive larp that puts you in the boots of the Prometheus Expedition - a team of survivors caught between starvation, ideology, and a blizzard that should’ve never happened.

What is larp?

It's a role-playing game, but in real life.

For a few hours or days, you take on the role of a character and live their life.

➤ You don't need to be an actor, just a little imagination.

➤ You decide how the story unfolds – there's no single scenario.

➤ You engage with all your senses and feel real emotions.

  • Official Frostpunk Universe
  • Step into the frostbitten world of Frostpunk, brought to life in an officially endorsed, live-action survival experience. Created with support from 11bit Studios - the minds behind the original game.

  • Psychological Survival-Horror, Not Just Pretend Cold
  • This isn’t just a chilly larp. You will feel the cold in your bones, ration food with your team, sleep in ruins, and make impossible moral choices under pressure. Expect hunger, fear, frostbite - and moments of raw humanity.

  • Handcrafted Characters with Deep Social Conflict
  • You will receive a unique prewritten character selected for you after reviewing your pre-game questionnaire - rooted in trauma, beliefs, secrets, and needs. The storylines explore loyalty, ideology, grief, manipulation, and human resilience.

  • Immersive Setting: A Fort Turned Into a Ruined Outpost
  • The game takes place in the atmospheric ruins of Fort II Nysa - a real 19th-century fortress transformed into a post-apocalyptic shelter with period lighting, camp beds, and worn-down equipment. There are no “out of theme” environment elements once you step in.

  • Innovative Game Mechanics
  • Includes cold exposure, disease progression, food scarcity, and emotional erosion. Fate mechanics drive personal arcs and unexpected plot turns. Special mechanics simulate illness, injury, stress, and hallucinations.

  • No Spectators. Every Player Matters.
  • Characters are not filler. Everyone is vital to survival: engineers, medics, guards, cooks, or negotiators. Whether you’re fixing a machine, soothing a dying friend, or plotting a betrayal - your actions ripple through the group.

  • A Larp That Leaves a Mark
  • You may leave this game changed. This is a story about clinging to warmth, sanity, and compassion when the world wants to turn you into something colder. You may break. You may endure. But you will remember.

    The Story & Game World

In 1886, the world ended in ice. A volcanic winter shattered ecosystems and plunged Europe into a desperate migration north. The British Empire answered with steel: colossal heat generators, isolated in the arctic wasteland. Now, one of the last functioning settlements - New London - sends you on a mission beyond the frostlands.

The Prometheus Expedition is tasked with finding signs of life in a distant, smoke-shadowed region. But a blizzard strikes early. Something is wrong. Why wasn’t this storm predicted? Trapped in an abandoned brick compound, cut off from the world, your group must survive the cold, ration supplies, and face a creeping dread both inside and out. This isn’t just about weather. It’s about what remains of humanity when the generator dies.

    The Experience

You will chop wood to feed the stove, scavenge for supplies, cook real food over open flames - and then decide who eats. You’ll drag injured teammates through volcanic fumes, light oil lamps in the ruins, argue policy in freezing shelters, and comfort the dying while your own fingers go numb. Every decision matters: do you obey the order that ensures survival but sacrifices dignity? Do you offer mercy when the rations are already gone?

This LARP is not about watching the story - it’s about enduring it. As the Prometheus Expedition, you’ll face physical hardship, emotional strain, and impossible moral dilemmas. You will live through the tension between faith and science, freedom and control, survival and sacrifice - while a storm howls outside and the generator flickers.

There is no escape but through the story...
