CODE OF CONDUCT
In addition to the vision that has guided us from the inception of LarpVenture, there is a set of key principles that we follow in our endeavors. It is important to us that people that cooperate with us and take part in our events in any capacity also act in accordance with these values.
1. We are open to everyone
We do not allow discrimination in any context and form. The diversity of the modern world is a source that inspires us towards development and growth.
2. Larps are people above all
The shape of a larp, the culture of the game, the experience flowing from it and the community emerging around it are influenced by each and every one of us, regardless of what role we play.
3. People are more important than the game
We put the safety and well-being of each person participating in the larp first. We consciously separate reality from fiction, and the actors from their roles.
4. We strive for safety
We care about each other and act reasonably. We comply with the law and safety rules, and we familiarize ourselves with emergency procedures.
5. We communicate our needs and boundaries
We are co-responsible for our experience, we do not impose this responsibility solely on others. We believe in honest and open communication.
6. We respect the needs and boundaries of others
We prevent unpleasant, harmful or oppressive situations before they escalate. We expect consent expressed in a clear and unambiguous manner.
7. We react to inappropriate behavior
We actively counteract it and minimize its effects. If necessary, we inform the appropriate people, because we know that change is the result of action, not neglect.
8. We judge behavior, not people
We assume good intentions and believe that thanks to an atmosphere of mutual trust and respect, we are able to clear up existing misunderstandings and prevent them in the future.
9. We are only human
We have the right to make mistakes, if we can recognize them as our own, apologize and learn from them. We believe that they will be pointed out to us so that we can become better people.
10. Producing a larp is the result of the joint efforts of multiple people
Efficient operation requires teamwork, awareness of one's competences and limitations, and one's role in the entire process.
11. We combine work and passion
We want the effort to result in satisfaction and development, not in pressure and burnout. Therefore, we avoid doing it at the expense of health and personal life, and we make sure that people cooperating with us act in accordance with this approach.
12. Working on a hobby remains a job
We respect it and appreciate its effects. We expect responsibility for the entrusted tasks. We pay according to the amount of work, competence and commitment.
13. We are mindful of social dynamics
We expect people who are recognizable, e.g. due to their function or position in the group, to be aware that their attitudes have an impact on the community, and to behave accordingly.
14. We build a community by example
As LarpVenture, we care about the development of the community and the people we work with, and we facilitate transfer of knowledge and skills. We are open to new people.
